Between 1935 and 1941 a Kibutz was run in the old trainstation on the Harlingerweg 45 in Franeker. This was a agricultural school for Jewish youth, the so-called Palestina Pioneers. Some of the students came from The Netherlands, but particularly in later years also many Jewish refugees from Germany, Austria and Poland. The students were trainees at local farms, where they learned all the aspects of farming. The film was made by dr. Jacob Bramson, second physician at the psycriatric hospital Groot Lankum in Franeker and founder of the Kibutz
