1920s and 1930s

In Europe, the first commissioned films on agricultural topics were made in the 1920s. These were mainly commissioned by associations and authorities, but private individuals also became active and commissioned film-makers to produce films. The topics covered included dairy farming, livestock farming, food supply in cities and the role of women in agriculture.
