First part of a two-part film about the work and life at a livestock farm in Friesland in the late forties of the twentieth century. Subjects in this part are: a farmers wedding, milking of the cows (by hand and with a machine), feeding the livestock, controlling the milk, examination of silage in the laboratory, mucking out of the barn, cleaning of the milking gear, the vaccination, cleaning and caring of the cows, the fertilizing of the land, the mowing and drying of the grass, diverse shots of the scenery in the spring.
